The state of Hawaiʻi’s 14-day mandatory self-quarantine for all travelers arriving in the Hawaiian Islands is through October 31, 2020. However, beginning October 15, a pre-travel testing option will allow travelers an alternative. Visit the HAWAI‘I STATE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH’S WEBSITE for the most up-to-date information.

Only domestic travelers arriving from the U.S. or its Territories need to register with the State of Hawaiʻi Safe Travels online system. Pre-travel testing is an alternative to the state’s mandatory five-day self-quarantine (updated on January 3, 2022 based on CDC guidelines). Travelers may elect to take a pre-travel COVID-19 NAAT from a state of Hawaiʻi Trusted Testing and Travel Partner within 72 hours of departing on the last leg of their trip to Hawaiʻi. To avoid the state’s mandatory five-day self-quarantine, the negative test result must be uploaded prior to departure of the last leg. Click here for the Trusted Travel Partners list. Or, travelers may participate in the vaccine exception program. More information may be found here.

- There are no pre-travel testing or other requirements needed for inter-county travel between the Hawaiian Islands. However, if a traveler enters the state and is placed in quarantine, they MUST remain at their designated quarantine location. They can’t change the location and will not be allowed to fly inter-county. More information may be found here.
- Give yourself extra time to get through airport security. Testing and requirements prior to arrival are noted in the Testing section above.
