Sea Life Park Hawai‘i

Sea Life Park Hawai‘i focuses on the education and conservation of Hawai‘i’s unique marine species through fun, interactive experiences. Swim with dolphins, sharks, and rays. Splash with sea lions, learn all about limu (Hawaiian seaweed), and visit the Seabird Sanctuary. Sea Life Park Hawai‘i offers round trip shuttle transportation from several locations; TheBus (Honolulu’s city bus) offers several daily routes; and the Waikīkī Trolley’s Blue Line stops here.

Ho‘omaluhia Botanical Garden

Set amidst the lush Ko‘olau Mountains, this 400-acre paradise features fruits, flowers, and trees from Hawai‘i, the Philippines, Malaysia, Tropical America, India, Sri Lanka, Melanesia, Polynesia, and Africa. Originally created by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to provide flood protection for Kāne‘ohe, this oasis is ideal for meditating, hiking, and camping.

From brilliant plumeria and bougainvillea to giant cacti, Koko Crater Botanical Garden is home to thousands of flowering plants and dryland species. Set within a dormant 200-acre volcano, the 60-acre sanctuary features plants from Hawai‘i, the Americas, Madagascar, and Africa.

Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve

Carved out of an extinct volcano, this scenic bay and coral reef is a fragile marine ecosystem. Learn about conservation efforts at the Marine Education Center and then snorkel among colorful tropical fish. Online reservations are required for all visitors which enables O‘ahu to better manage visitor capacity, protect the natural environment, and steward this natural resource.

Kualoa Ranch Private Nature Reserve

Stretching across 4,000 acres of mountains and valleys to the sea, Kualoa preserves its sacred lands and celebrates its history while educating visitors about traditional Hawaiian values, reverence for the natural environment, and respect for the host Hawaiian culture. Kualoa offers UTV, ziplining, horseback riding, e-bikes, fishpond, ocean, and Hawaiian sustainability adventures to support its mission. Several tours reveal the many sites where famous movies and TV shows have been made here. TheBus offers several routes from Waikīkī hotels. Select tours feature round trip transportation for an additional $30 per person.
